Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for providing support in various HR functions, including training and development, employee relations, benefits administration, and recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR policies and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Responsibilities:
-Recruit new employees through job ads, career fairs, etc.
-Assist in interviews and conduct background checks and perform other on-boarding activities
-Create and maintain personnel files following HR standards
-Coordinate orientation and on-going in-service activities as required by law
-Conduct exit interviews and termination procedures
-Provide health insurance information/education and assist with signing up for benefits
-Maintain Worker's Compensation procedures as required by law
-Manage Family Medical Leave Act requirements as required by law
-Provide administrative support to Executive Director
-Coordinate monthly Board of Trustee meetings and provide administrative support
-Stay current with labor and COBRA laws
-Assist employees with personal issues related to work
-Answer phones, assist guests and provide excellent customer service to all individuals
-Attending interdepartmental meeting with other managers
Requirements:
Associates degree in Human Resources or related field or 5 years related experience
